PLEASE NOTE:
Access to the indoor range requires a numerical code for a new "Cypher lock" unit. The old key based system is no longer in operation. For those that have a "Key Membership", the access code for the indoor range is written on the back of your membership card
The indoor range has been repaired. A highly dedicated group of volunteers (all 5 of them) donated their time and skills to get the range back into usable shape. The back stops were re-welded and put back into place, new metal was installed where needed, new backing boards were installed, and everything is good!
Of course, the first week that the new target backers and plate steel were in place, people were firing jacketed center-fire rounds in the indoor range, completely missing the target areas with their shots, and firing center-fire calibers in the lower target area, which is only to be used for .22 caliber rounds.
Please, please, please pay attention to the rules and limitations of the indoor range. We have found significant quantities of copper jacket material from what appear to be 9mm or .40 cal rounds. This is not a high dollar, high tech bullet trap. It is a working bullet deflector system that has some limitations. If you do not have access to low velocity ammo with lead bullets for your 9mm, or your .45 ACP, or whatever, please contact the board. We can probably find a supply for you. If you do not want to shoot lead bullets through your new Glock, or any other modern arm, then please limit yourself to the outdoor range.
Please watch for the work bee notices that will be posted the newsletter and at the range.
