As cooler weather approaches, I start to think about the changing of the seasons.  Where before we were in lawn mowing season, painting season, outdoor repair season, etc., now we are moving into log splitting and wood stacking season, fire tending season, indoor range clean up season, and (@#$%) snow plowing season.  The club is thinking about churning through the chore list, and making sure that the facilities are kept up to snuff.  I would like to ask the membership for help with these ongoing chores, as well as the occasional project that pops up from time to time.

Not that all the chores are physical labor.  We could really use someone who knows how to write grant applications.  Keeping the club calendar up to date is another area where we could use some help, as well as lending a hand with the newsletter and other paperwork.

What we are asking for are names of people who would be willing to donate a couple of hours a month to help out with some of the various work bees and ongoing chores that need to get done at the club.  Plowing, range clean ups, tending the fire in the indoor range, stacking firewood, things like that.  Bigger projects would need bigger groups of people, but we still would need volunteers.

We would like to keep a list of names that we can call when these tasks come up.  This way, we can call folks who we know are interested in helping, and we can try to rotate the calls so we don’t always wind up with the same 4 or 5 people being called all the time.

So, if you would be willing to donate a couple of hours of your time, please send us a note.  Drop a note to PO Box 325, Corning, NY 14830, or send an E-mail to
webmaster@ppfs.org .  Trust me, someone will get back to you.

Thank you
